On April 14-15, 2012 an interactive forum on the new economy was held in Ojai, CA, with an in depth exploration of possibilities for bringing together Ojai’s unique assets for Ecotourism. Many community members and organizations participated in discussions on the possibilities for sustaining our environment, economy and community through this Ecotourism initiative.
The Forum was a tremendous success with a packed venue and many informative presentations, including those given by Ventura County Supervisor Steve Bennett and California 35th District Assemblymember Das Williams.
Out of the Forum, came many individuals and organizations dedicated to moving forward with an Ecotourism initiative for the Ojai Valley. The Ojai Valley Green Coalition is serving as the umbrella organization whose mission is - “to advance a green, sustainable, and resilient Ojai Valley”. The goal is to elevate the level of protection to our area’s environment while providing a healthy economy and preserving the local culture.
